SUNNY HILLS | HOTEL APARTMENT

An apartment at Sunny Hills, a resort development in Sesimbra, five minutes from the Atlantic. Of its 108,7 m², 31 are terrace, which makes it larger than the living room, and every room opens onto it.

Sunny have a handwriting of their own, and we worked inside it: dark wood, a lot of relief, fine ethnic detail, one accent pendant per room. Here the relief took over the job colour usually does. A latticed timber screen around the television, travertine in wide slabs, fluting across the wardrobe walls, a plaster sunburst worked by hand above the bed. The ethnic note stays quiet: turned wooden posts, woven shades with fringes, small lathe-cut bedside tables.

The pendants hold the rooms together. A large folded fabric shade over the dining table, two tiered woven lamps at the bed. The light itself hides in the ceiling slots and runs at a grazing angle, so every texture reads as shadow and changes through the day.
